What She Does

Nadia Borowski Scott brings to every project an outstanding set of photographic skills, honed from years of photojournalism experience. More importantly, she also brings an unmatched personal skill - an ability to connect with her subjects and reveal their elusive 'something more.' Whether shooting produced images or capturing real people in their everyday lives, Nadia's images will exceed her clients' needs and expectations, every time. Her work as a journalist and as a fluent Russian speaker has taken her to the former Soviet Union, to follow changes in religious freedoms after glasnost - as well as to Israel to cover the Gulf War for The Orange County Register. She was chosen as one of two San Diego photographers for the national documentary project 'America 24/7' and was named 'Visual Journalist of the Year' December, 2005 at the San Diego Union-Tribune, where she is a staff photographer. Since becoming a mother of two boys, she prides herself in making visual what others may not consider so while covering stories in Southern California. Fluent in documentary found moments as well as planned, self-styled illustrative portraits, she encourages photo subjects to play during a shoot, allowing images to spring forth and surpass photo editors and Art Directors expectations from a shoot every time. Clients include Boys Life, The San Diego Economic Development Corporation, TIME, American Journal of Nursing, Freedom Communications - Annual Report, and others.
